At Mokena we are proud to bring to you a simply delicious buffet that is prepared using local fresh products and prepared daily by our dedicated and passionate staff. Along with the unique atmosphere of the historic features of the restaurant and building Mokena is the ideal setting to enjoy an evening out.
Mokena is the perfect setting for a family gathering, a romantic dinner for two or a group of friends catching up. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
Private function rooms. If you are looking at having an event at Mokena we are happy to be able to offer a choice of two private function rooms. Seating up to 30 in one of the rooms and 15 in the other where you can enjoy your function with friends and family.
What's On The Menu
Starting with mouth watering home made soups and fresh rolls prepared daily.
With a variety of over 12 salads to choose from there is something to satisfy everyone.
Seafood lovers will love our home made seafood salad, oyster in the half shell and marinated mussels (and on occasion seafood chowder)
The carvery : succulent roast beef, glazed champagne and crisp roast chicken served with our famous home made gravy.
Hot dishes : creamy potato gratin, savoury mushrooms in sauce, stir fry crisp vegetables, crisp battered fish and roast pumpkin, kumara and potatoes.
Something for the kids: seasoned wedges, French fries, chicken nuggets, mini spring rolls and samosas and crumbed squid rings.
Cold meats : salami and cabonisi sausage, cold chicken and ham with a selection of mustards and relishes.
Dessert
So much to choose from you will have to try them all. All our desserts are home made!! Pavolova with whipped cream and fresh fruit topping, chocolate log, apple crumble, chocolate mousse, chocolate éclairs and cream puffs, ice cream, jelly, fresh fruit salad, brand snaps and hot chocolate self saucing pudding.
